Mission Statement

Our mission at the Rio Grande Medical Group is to be the leader of comprehensive healthcare in Southern New Mexico.

We are committed to accomplishing this mission by recruiting and retaining the most qualified, dedicated and compassionate healthcare providers we can find. We emphasize teamwork, cooperation and loyalty within our organization, and insist that these principles govern the delivery of our services to you. We are a physician-owned medical group, which gives us the independence to act in your best interest without being influenced by external considerations. We understand the trust you place in us when you choose us as your healthcare provider, and we pledge to do everything within our power to be worthy of that trust.

 

Policies

New Patients

 
In order for us to provide the best care for you, it is very important that you bring the following items to your visit:
  • Photo ID
  • A list of your current medications
  • Any and all x-rays films
  • Insurance information and card
  • Information about what treatments and medications have been tried in the past
  • Medical records from prior visits that you think may be helpful

Medicare/Medicaid Cancellation Policy

Rio Grande Medical Group policy requires patients to give at least 24 hours notice for cancellation of a sick or recheck visit or 24 hours for a wellness visit. Any patient fails to give proper notice 3 times will be terminated from the practice.

Commercial Insurance/Self Pay Cancellation Policy

Rio Grande Medical Group Policy requires patients to give at least 2 hours notice for cancellation of a sick or recheck visit or 24 hours for a wellness visit. There is a $25 charge for missing a sick or recheck visit and a $55 charge for missing a wellness visit.


Minor Patient Policy


In order for us to give your child the best care possible, it is essential that a parent or legal guardian accompany your child to office visits. If this is not possible, we need a letter signed and dated by the parent/legal guardian giving us permission to provide the child with care and/or immunizations.

If the appointment for a complete physical examination on a child over 18 months and the parent/legal guardian is unable to attend, it is best to reschedule the appointment for a time when the parent/legal guardian can be present.

When someone other than the parent/legal must bring the child to the appointment, we can give your child the best care possible if they bring information regarding the child’s symptoms, length of illness, and any questions you would like answered by the provider. Also, please bring all medications to the appointment. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
